The pandemic has made us reflect on our commitment to change people’s lives through access to good nutrition—even during unprecedented times. As a non-profit foundation dedicated to providing nourishment, care, and education to children around the world, we are in a unique position to help our communities. Herbalife Nutrition distributors and employees have heard the calling and risen to the challenge.
That is why today, on World Humanitarian Day and every day, we honor Herbalife Nutrition employees and independent distributors who are making the best out of an unfamiliar situation: doing what’s right and helping others. We are inspired by their incredible resilience, compassion, and creativity.
Frontline Workers Who Keep the Business Running
To ensure that independent distributors can continue to serve and support their customers, essential Herbalife Nutrition employees have kept manufacturing facilities and distribution centers running while adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Meet some of these extraordinary individuals:
As part of the Quality Control team, Jacqueline Tam and her team of microbiologists have been diligently testing Herbalife Nutrition products to ensure they are up to high standards for consumers.
Lead Maintenance Mechanic John Horwood is always ready to do whatever it takes to keep the blending and production lines running.
Lead Sanitation Technician Art Marquez has been instrumental in the site’s response to COVID-19, helping implement various safety measures and increased cleanings at the plant.
At the Lake Forest Manufacturing Center, Kyle Stanton has created and implemented a new program which will further the collaborative relationship between departments to reduce downtime and help technicians to learn and grow within their roles.
While most of us are sleeping, Third Shift Quality Assurance Technician Syed Rizvi works to make sure Formula 1 and Herbal Aloe products are manufactured to exceed distributor expectations throughout the world.
Herbalife Nutrition Foundation Humanitarians
Each year, we honor independent distributors whose spirited philanthropy has benefited their communities. The honorees this year are particularly active in their community and have led fundraising and volunteering efforts.
Here are the 2020 honorees:
Asia Pacific honoree: Kia Chun Loo
On a regular basis, Kia Chun Loo helps provide fresh food to an orphanage, so that children in need have access to nutritious meals. He also volunteers at a home for senior citizens and abandoned disabled children, showing his personal commitment to their welfare.

Europe, Middle East and Africa honoree: Natália Ferreira
Natalia regularly volunteers with several organizations, including Helpo, a non-governmental organization based in Portugal. She highlighted Helpo’s work when it was responding to the Cyclone Idai disaster in Mozambique and neighboring countries, and she also inspired the Herbalife Nutrition independent distributor leadership in Portugal to donate, aiding the 87,000 people displaced from their homes.

Mexico honoree: Raquel Cortés Jaimes
Raquel is the official godmother of Casa Hogar del Perpetuo Socorro, I.A.P., an organization in Mexico that supports young girls from underprivileged backgrounds. It is of utmost importance to her that the girls feel empowered, and she fosters that feeling by supporting this particular organization.

South and Central America honoree: Fernando “Nani” and Judith Rancel Marquez
For more than 20 years, Fernando and Judith have given unconditional support to charities that help vulnerable children in Venezuela. They were instrumental in helping the charities Asoprogar and Casa Hogar Nido Alegre become part of the Casa Herbalife Nutrition program.

North America honoree: Dominique Montes
Back in 2012, Dominique led a group of Herbalife Nutrition independent distributors who volunteered at the local children’s hospital. She went the extra mile by establishing the Royal Run for Hope 5K, a fundraising event for the department of pediatric oncology. During its first year, the event raised more than $10,000, and it continues to grow every year. To date, the Royal Run for Hope has grown to 768 participants.
