Developed by our team in Europe, the French Bredele, a traditional Christmas cookie that originated in France, gets a Herbalife Nutrition makeover! Rolled oats, cinnamon and wholemeal flour combine with PDM, F1 Spiced Apple and Oat Apple Fibre to bring you a healthier, lighter biscuit that doesn’t compromise on flavor.

Bredele Oat Cookies

  • 100 g (1 cup) rolled oats
  • 50 g (1/2 cup) wholemeal flour
  • 50 g (1/2 cup) desiccated coconut
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • Half teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 serving (28 g) Protein Drink Mix
  • 1 serving (26 g) Formula 1 Spiced Apple*
  • 1 serving (7 g) Oat Apple Fibre*
  • 100 g (7 TBSP) butter
  • 75 g (3 TBSP) agave syrup
  • 25 g (2 TBSP) brown sugar
  • Preheat the oven to 180’C/ 160’Fan/ 350’F / Gas mark 4.
  • Place the oats in a mixing bowl, add in the wholemeal flour, desiccated coconut, bicarbonate of soda, ground cinnamon, Protein Drink Mix, Formula 1 Spiced Apple and the Oat Apple Fibre, and mix well.
  • Place the butter in a saucepan over a low heat and add in the agave syrup and the brown sugar. Melt slightly and stir together, then add into the dry ingredients and bring together.
  • Roll into balls and place on a parchment paper lined tray. Flatten the balls slightly then bake in the preheated oven (on 2 trays or in batches) for 12-15 minutes until deep golden. Remove from the oven and set aside for 2 minutes then carefully remove from the tray and transfer to a rack to cool.

Susan Bowerman is the senior director of Worldwide Nutrition Education and Training at Herbalife. She also serves as the Vice Chair of the Dietetic Advisory Board (DAB). As a registered dietitian, she educates distributors about our global nutrition philosophy and is responsible for developing nutrition education and training materials. Bowerman earned a B.S. in Biology with distinction from the University of Colorado and an M.S. in Food Science and Nutrition from Colorado State University. She is a fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and holds two board certifications as a specialist in Sports Dietetics and in Obesity and Weight Management. When she is not busy teaching and writing, Susan enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and gardening.
